Graphic Designer - Texas Rangers Baseball Club (Arlington, TX)

Job Summary

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating, modifying and producing all brand-related graphic projects for the Texas Rangers. This position will ensure that all creative deliverables support the team’s brand strategy and are completed on time and error-free. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design a variety of marketing projects including but not limited to newspaper ads (English and Spanish), programs, outdoor billboards, web graphics, TV graphics, social media, tickets, sales brochures, community reports, promotional items, logos, gifs, and flyers

  • Design POS, ads, signage, and other materials for corporate sponsors as needed

  • Work with all departments to meet design and print needs such as flyers, sales materials, community event materials, brochures, etc.

  • Contribute to the creative development of marketing campaigns and materials

  • Bid projects, assist in selecting, and work with commercial printers to ensure projects are printed and delivered in a timely manner

  • Assist with organizing and tracking projects for the department

  • Manage and maintain graphic files including photos, logos and art; distribute as requested

  • Present finalized ideas, designs and concepts to various departments and/or corporate sponsors

  • Maintain and grow knowledge of design and sports industry trends

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications or related field

  • Two years of professional design experience is preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe CC on a Mac platform

  • Knowledge of design elements, artistic ability and creativity are essential

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other departments and corporate sponsors visually, verbally, and in writing

Coordinator, Graphic Design - Texas Rangers Baseball Club (Arlington, TX)

Summary:

This position is will be the liaison between all departments and the Graphic Design group in Marketing.  They will receive all requests on behalf of the Graphic Design group, track projects through completion, and report back to stakeholders on project statuses.  They will also interface with printing vendors and keep detailed records of all projects performed by Graphics, and will proofread all copy for accuracy and style. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Traffics all jobs within the graphics department, assign timelines, route and track status of projects from start to completion.

  • Acts as the liaison between graphics and other departments to facilitate workflow.

  • Assists employees with procedures relating to graphics traffic and production.

  • Ensure that project requests are complete so creative team has adequate information to begin development.

  • Coordinate, proofread and verify all content for projects.

  • Respond to client requests in a timely and educated manner.

  • Responsible for securing print estimates.

  • Inputs all final printing numbers, including quantities and prices, for records.

  • Prepares weekly job status reports for graphics department.

  • Archive creative projects.

  • Work with sponsorship department on receiving and locating ads for the gameday program, Triple Play program, and other projects that involve outside advertisements.

  • Help out with other day-to-day duties in the graphics department.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • College degree required

  • Outstanding copyediting and writing skills

  • Proficient in MS office, especially Excel and Word

  • Experience with Mac and Adobe CS

  • Must work well in a cross-functional team environment and possess strong interpersonal skills

  • Can manage multiple projects, along with daily tasks

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Is organized and detail-oriented

  • Must be a motivated self-starter
